Are you applying your DR’s Secret products correctly?
The conventional way of skin care application may include spreading, patting and tugging of the skin. These may help to quicken skin care absorption but tug or stretch skin unnecessarily during the process.
Here at DR’s Secret, we encourage you to go gentle with your skin and our products are formulated in a way that enable you to do so. In fact, you’d find that most of our products can be applied through light swipes with your fingertips!
Below is a comprehensive product application guide to help you learn and assess if you are using your DR’s Secret products correctly.
1. Cleanser 1: Create a foam lather and lightly massage
No more rubbing and cleansing your skin with excessive force. Here’s how you can do it right.
Lather
Before you start, wash your hands to ensure they are clean and oil-free. This is a key step as it’ll be easier to create foam lather with clean hands.

Dispense a coin-sized amount of Cleanser 1 on your palms and add a small amount of water. Gently lather Cleanser 1 by sweeping your palms with light and swift circular strokes using your fingertips until a soft, rich foam is formed.
Keep lathering with small amounts of water repeatedly until a smooth and rich foam is formed. Good foam texture will not drip or slide off your hands.

Tip:
Do not use excessive force or rub both palms together as the gel cleanser is unable to foam up this way.
Massage
Spread foam all over your face and massage in small circular motions using your fingertips.
Avoid using excessive force to press down on your skin or rubbing too hard. The foam itself is an effective net for trapping and drawing out impurities, so simply let the product work its magic!
2. Toner T2: Spread with fingertips

No patting, slapping or rubbing needed.
Dispense an appropriate amount of Toner T2 on your palms. Use your fingertips to lightly dab and swipe Toner T2 across your skin. Your fingers should feel like they’re caressing your skin surface without pressing down on it. No rubbing or patting of skin is required.
Many might use a cotton pad to apply toners and this is done to remove any remaining impurities on the skin after cleansing. However, this is not necessary if you have done your cleansing step well using Cleanser 1 above. We recommend applying Toner T2 directly onto your skin without using a cotton pad so your skin can absorb the full hydrating goodness!
3. Serums: Apply with fingertips

DR’s Secret serums come in a dropper or a pump bottle, which makes it easy to directly apply. You may drop or pump serum directly on skin or dispense serum on palm before applying. The former will allow the product to be absorbed by your face completely with no remnants on your hands.
Tip: Avoid direct skin contact with the dropper or pump when dispensing serum to prevent product contamination.
Lightly apply with fingertips in the same way that you’d apply Toner T2.
4. Sunscreen 5 and Moisturizer 6: Press and roll
Instead of tugging at your skin while trying to blend your sunscreen in, use the press and roll method when using Sunscreen 5/Sunscreen Matte 5M.

Gently dot small amounts of sunscreen across the entire face. Gently pat on skin surface to spread the product evenly over the skin. Use all four fingertips on each side to lightly press and roll the sunscreen in. Doing this well will leave a subtle dewy glow on your skin without any white cast.
This method applies for Moisturizer 6 too!
5. Eye Cream: Gently massage

Dot small amounts of Eye Cream around your under-eye area all the way to the outer corner of your eye.
Massage with your fingertips gently in a circular motion, starting from the inner eye to the outer eye area and then closing in on your upper eyelid.
Use your fingertips to do soft quick dabs around your eye area to enhance absorption.
Tip:
Use your ring finger to apply and massage if you are worried about exerting too much force with your index or middle finger. The skin around the eyes is most delicate so make sure to avoid stretching or tugging at your skin to prevent fine lines.
6. Miraglo: Slow, gentle strokes
Apply foam from Cleanser 1 onto your whole face. Fold Miraglo into a quarter and make sure the entire surface area of the cloth is closely nestled against your skin.

Using your palms for a better grip, leaving no gaps in between your fingers, start gliding Miraglo in an upward motion, 3 times across each spot. While doing so, you should not be pressing down hard on your skin.
The key to master effective exfoliation with Miraglo is to deploy slow, gentle lifting strokes while making sure that the cloth is in full contact to your skin surface.
When done right, the ultrafine microfibre (200 times thinner than human hair!) helps to trap and lift away dead skin cells, dirt and impurities from the skin surface to uncover fresh healthy skin.

Your skin should feel fresh and clean after each use.
If you experience redness or sensitivity after using, chances are that you may have exerted too much force. Reassess your application method and consult your skin buddy for guidance.
Mastering the right application method will help you take a big leap forward to achieve results in the shortest time possible. Great skin is worth the wait and work!
