Can you use eye cream on other parts of your face? The answer is YES!
Eye creams are formulated for the thinnest and most delicate part of our skin.
The formulation needs to be very gentle and non-irritating to the eyes. However, moisturisers are formulated differently, and certain moisturising creams may be too heavy or greasy for the delicate eye area, resulting in milia.
While we don’t recommend using moisturisers in replacement of eye cream, there is nothing to stop you from using eye cream on other parts of your face! In fact, with the right active ingredients, it may help to boost certain effects that you may be going for.
Experienced users of DR’s Secret have told us that on top of using Aestier Eye Cream for the eye area, they have found the ingredients useful to help with other skin problems.
First, here’s a rundown of the active ingredients in Eye Cream.
- AGF-Complex™
A powerful blend of growth factors-mimicking peptides. This means that the peptides in Eye Cream are highly similar to our skin’s natural growth factors, thus quickening the effects of skin renewal to restore bounce and suppleness.
- Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline®)
Patented peptides that help prevent muscle movement and contraction to reduce the appearance of fine lines.
- Botanica-E™ – Caffeine, Gingko, Grape Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Safflower, Scutellaria Baicanlensis Root, Rosa Canina Extracts and Vitamin E
A blend of 7 botanical extracts and Vitamin E to condition skin and stimulate collagen synthesis for firm supple skin. Helps to reduce puffiness and dark circles.
3 ways that you can use the Aestier Eye Cream in your skin care routine:
1. As a gentle rejuvenating cream for the eye area
As a cream that majors on peptides, Eye Cream is great for targeting skin renewal to visibly diminish the appearance of fine lines and creases around the eye area. With our peepers being the first to show signs of ageing, we’d say to start early before the folds start to appear.
- Dispense 1 pump for each eye and apply by gently massaging into the skin, being careful not to tug at the skin around the eyes.
- Massage with your fingertips gently in a circular motion, starting from the inner eye to the outer eye area and then closing in on your upper eyelid.
- Use your fingertips to do soft quick dabs around your eye area to enhance absorption.
Tip: Use your ring finger to apply and massage if you are worried about exerting too much force with your index or middle finger.
2. As a serum to help with pitted scars or facial lines
This method is shared by a real user who used to struggle with obvious pitted scar marks – the aftermath of long-time acne breakouts. After taming her breakouts with a customised DR’s Secret routine, she cleverly took the collagen-boosting benefit of Eye Cream and applied it to help with her scars.
The step is simple – dispense an appropriate amount of Eye Cream and apply on the affected areas before moisturiser.
The growth factors-mimicking peptides will encourage skin renewal to smoothen the complexion and lighten the appearance of skin craters. Same theory applies to fine lines appearing at the forehead or mouth areas!
3. As a moisturiser on more sensitive areas
Going through a sudden bout of skin sensitivity? Try applying a small amount of eye cream around these areas, especially the skin around the mouth or chin.
As we’ve mentioned that eye cream formulas are typically a lot gentler for delicate skin, doing so can help to moisturise and reduce feelings of sensitivity until your skin gets better.
Bonus tip:
While we know that the Aestier Eye Cream has more than one benefits, we recommend using in small amounts as a booster so you don’t have to shell out.
